In between my regular posts about people, I would like to do something for Halloween on here. I get views from different places around the world and I would like you all to also participate in some of my posts coming up.
I will be doing some posts about the history of Halloween, but I would also like for you all to share your favorite childhood memories of Halloween, what does your family do for Halloween, what did your family do for it when you were growing up, how does your culture celebrate it, what is your favorite part as an adult? If I get some participation I will share my answers to these questions too. If you comment please at least tell what country you are from so we will all know who does what where. Thank you and I look forward to seeing what you all do. I’ll also do some posts like this for Christmas.

Lives Our Ancestors Left Behind 
Despite coming from England, where the Celts celebrated Samhain, the modern celebration of Halloween was unknown to me as a child in the 1950s and 1960s, until it was re-imported much later, from America. When I first encountered Trick or Treat as an adult, I was saddened that this ancient tradition had been reduced to supermarket marketing and television advertising for related products. I later wrote this post about it on my blog.
Then again, I am something of a grumpy old man!
